And yet another rant

 Yesterday I took a friend to get some things done.  On our way back home we began talking about many things among them the idea that white is always right.  Now my friend is Black, or as she says "chocolate" and a very good Christian.  We talked about aging in the old days and I said people didn't live as long and she told me her ancestors did.  The only thing I could think of as to why this was, and I told her this, was that before becoming slaves her ancestors had to be strong in order to stay alive in Africa what with all the wildlife and the conditions of the weather, etc., where my ancesters didn't have to contend with that and I believe that made us weaker.  However, I am a mutt of a few different European species, Scot, Irish, Welsh, German, and a few others I haven't found yet so I think that my goal to live to be 104 will be an easy thing to accomplish because mutts live longer than most purebreds.  We had a good laugh.  I enjoy talking to her because she accepts me for the fool I am.

Another rant

 Listening to an early morning radio show I heard that a Black Republican came up with the idea that the United States is not racist.  All I could think of was that he lives in his own little world and is in for a very rude awakening someday soon.  That's as bad as "Christian" women thinking that they are equal to men in all ways, nice to believe but when you consider the fact that a woman doing the same job as a man doesn't get equal pay; that a woman applying for the same job as a man and being more fit for the job but the man gets it...yeah how about that.  Then consider the fact that in most cases, not all, after she comes home she has to fix dinner, clean up and take care of kids while, for the most part, the husband is worn out and watches TV at his leisure and enjoys his time off from work.  I know, it isn't that way for most families but this does still exist.  

Damn, he isn't done yet

 I was sure Trump would stay out of sight for a little while.  I was dead wrong!  He started up an office in his new home town called "The office of the Ex-President" and it appears to be his new command post.  After finding this out I have had nothing but nightmares.  My question is, with all the the Mueller investigation found and his instigation of the people who tried to overturn the government by taking over the Congressional Building, why aren't we charging him for treason?  Isn't it a treasonable act to take over the government that the people of this nation voted in?  And if he is found to be a traitor, can we just cut his head off?  You do it to a snake why not this snake.

There are some Democratic voters who have had their lives threatened by Trump followers and won't call themselves Democrats any more for fear of death.  We don't have a law as strong for "domestic terrorist" as foreign terrorist!  It isn't as if the FBI didn't know about these terrorist; it isn't as if the government didn't know they existed (by that I mean other departments in the government) and still only one hundred or so of these terrorist have been arrested while thousands of BLM peaceful protesters were arrested.  Things are wonkers and need to be corrected.

Do you think I'm upset?  No, it goes far beyond that.  I'm upset, angry, scared shitless and more that there are no words for.

Just thinking

 After listening to the voices on Indigitness radio I feel that our nation, ALL of us, should reflect on what has been in the past and correct what is wrong and, if there was good done, pat ourselves on the back although I cannot think of any good done.

Anyway, today and for the rest of the year reflect on your life and how we can all change and be the people we have in our heads that we have not acted like. It is time for all of us adults to actually grow up and admit our mistakes, accept them, correct them if possible and get on with living the way we should. This is a time and a year of reflection for absolutely everyone and it is time we made our government correct so many mistakes that have been made over the years as well. No, I am not one of those ijits that tried to take over the Congressional building, they all need their heads examined, but I do believe our Congress needs to listen to us rather than corporations, companies and money. We can change that and it is time.

Current conditions

 I have what I am now calling "Trump virus".  To deal with it requires one or two cocktails at least once a day, if possible outside in the sun.  

I'm having a very hard time trying to figure out why BLM protesters are treated so terribly, some in prison for who knows how long and White Supremist and Neo-Nazi still roam the streets carrying guns and smashing everything in site.  What our "leader" does by inciting these groups treasonous, and yet no one declares it as treason instead just saying "inciting people".  Inciting is bad enough but what he has done in the four years of his Presidency is nothing but pure TREASON!  The Congresswoman from Rifle, CO is another example of someone who needs to be put away as she demands to be allowed to carry her gun into the Congressional building and use her phone to text while the building was under siege!  Am I the only one who sees it this way?

My mind used to give me a break by taking a small trip to Mars, it no longer goes there for fear Trump has decided it is his to have forever.  The trips to outer space will take longer for my mind because now it has to go to Pluto.  I find myself unwilling to do anything.  I want to cry but can't.  My mind goes in a billion different directions while I try to act normal and do the usual day-to-day things.  Everything looks well on the outside but inside I'm feeling like I am melting away.  There are things to do for this and I am looking into all of them.  When I first moved into my new apartment everyone thought I did Yoga because I sat on the floor or ground and could get up and down easily...well now I am taking up yoga to calm me down and get my mind, spirit and body working together...at least they tell me it will work this way.  I know it will take some time but I really need this along with walking and petting my neighbors dog.

One of my neighbors told me one time when we were questioning where the "golden years" were that we are in the "silver years" because everything is silver here, there and everywhere but no gold in site.  You have to laugh because if you don't you will go insane.

We have a battle going on in the U. S. and that battle is remembering what Democracy is and WHAT it is.  It appears no one really knows.  People of all colors, religious beliefs or thoughts should be welcome and safe.  Because of our "leader", Asians are bullied and tormented just because they are Asian much the same as Blacks, Hispanic, Native Americans and anyone who is not a Christian.  Again, nothing about this nation is Christian...not even those who proclaim to be Christian.  This country was founded for freedom of religion and all peoples-I know the founding fathers didn't necessarily mean slaves or women but things change and now it DOES include slaves of all colors and women! 

 

Some memories

 Some memories just won't go away. The one I am dealing with isn't all that bad but it happened when I was 10 or 11 and staying with my Dad's Mom and Dad for the summer. In the neighborhood all the houses had decent front porches where you could sit in the evening and have coffee, tea or Coca Cola and everyone knew everyone and their business. The house that was two doors down from the main street there was a young woman who lived with her parents and she had just had a baby, she was mentally ill. I remember Granny Mac and Grandpa Mac running out of the house around 5 p.m. as did everyone in the neighborhood. The house was on fire and the fire truck was there dong their best. There were screams and we all huddled together a short distance from the house. The smoke smelled different and it wasn't until a week later that Granny Mac told me the screaming was the mother of the baby that she couldn't get out of the house and the smell was human flesh. The mother had to be taken to the hospital with bad burns over her body, unfortunately, she never came home because she just couldn't cope with the loss of her baby. I can still remember the smell of burning flesh.

Language and history of people

 Today sometime, four thousand sheep were delivered to the Chinese government by the Mongolian government.  It's sort of a peace offering.  When the Mongolians protested the fact that they were not allowed to speak their true language China acted in a very robust way...by killing.  You may feel anger at China's way of dealing with this but stop and think about our history and what we have done to the Indigenous people of this country as well as telling people who become citizens of this country that we don't want to hear their native tongue but want to hear only American English from them.  We are not respecting them or their origins, OR their customs or whatever makes them the people they are.  We are, believe it or not, a melting pot and as soon as we recognize this the better off we all will be.  Acceptance is the greatest gift we can give each other.
